Cheer Skills Classes

These classes are just a few examples of what we have in store to offer.
No previous cheer experience required. Our coaching staff is trained to have all level of skill athletes push for new developments and to focus on strengths and weaknesses to be able to feel more confident within all aspects of the cheer sport. We want to showcase our athletes as if they were born to cheer.

All beginning/intro entry athletes will be scheduled to attend weekly interacting and captivating practices. Instructors will maintain high energy and upbeat practices to ensure our young athletes not only engage in the FUNdamentals of cheer, but thrive off of our cheer spirit and look forward to more practice time to achieve stepping stones to advance levels of skills. Intro to Rec Star cheer Teams will showcase routines and skills by entering competition at Exhibition levels.

Skill

Private/semi-private tumbling

Private/semi-private tumbling lessons with certified tumbling instructor. Consisting of beginner/intermediate/skilled standing and/or running tumbling passes. Levels 1-3 offered. Instructors will observe current skill level, if any, and determine goals for each individual athlete. Standing/running take off and landing techniques to be shown to execute skills properly. Discussions of what we will work on in order to improve tumbling in order for their goals set to be completed and advancement on another skill can commence.

Cheer Dance Lessons

Cheer Dance lessons packed with energy and fun. Proper body stance, movement & facial expressions will be shown to athletes to motivate them to want to bring the fire to the mat during performances. Music will be jamming and motions will be danced. This class will be offered for all age groups and conducted at separate sessions due to different experience levels.

We suggest just participating a few times a month for fun! Dancing this new age cheer style to awesome cheer remixes along with both new and old tunes is definitely a class not to be missed. We promise you you will enjoy it.

Bases/Spotter Skills & Strength

Bases/All spotter positions Skills & Strength classes which will consist of exercises to develop arm/leg muscle, proper placement of body positioning, stunting amongst groups, importance of safety regulations. This all will help with the strength
of said positions as well as educate on proper techniques to control flyers.

Flyer Flight & Stretch Class

Flyer Flight & Stretch class which will consist of stunt stand drills, stunting amongst groups and stretching techniques. These activities will help Flyer improve confidence level and help with developing and/or strengthening Flyer Flexibility,
Balance & Body Control. Determination of Elite skills reviewed and/or taught will depend on experience.

Jump Drill Classes

Jump Drill Classes – Series of either beginner and/or skilled jumps will be taught and practiced. Proper stretch education to be reviewed in order to reduce muscle injuries and to help strengthen flexibility. Proper take off and landing techniques will
be key focus areas as well as hip and arm placement. These drills will help with athletes heights of jumps, execution of jumps along with overall jump skills.

Core Conditioning & Strengthening

Core Conditioning & Strengthening Clinics- Principal exercising will be done so that athletes understand the core areas of the body and instructions to these exercise routines. It’s important they view these classes as tools to be used to gain overall stability, strength, balance and increases stamina and endurance which all is equally important. Education of Daily strengthening activities will be another area instructed so in fact athletes commit to and keep up with toning and tightening.

Instructors will reinforce the importance of dedication to core exercise and how it leads to successfully developing additional skills which is needed to advance levels. Athletes who focus on core muscle development and conditioning routines daily take Pride in caring for their bodies and find practice, performance and attempts at advanced skills much easier.
